Minh is sort of dead. But no worries, I always have my first avatar, born in 2006. I’ve made her Minh’s look-a-like and my SL adventures continue.
12 years has changed a lot of things. My first av was orange with horrific black hair. Nowadays I’ll try to find modest and somehow RL-honest way to show my personality. (Or lack of it…) Am I boring or what? I do not like to roleplay or use special avs.
Congrats 15 years old Second Life. You are so very dear to me. Feels like home to be back after a break.
I still have many virtual passions and plans:
learn to use Blender and build something, for example new home. I tried Blender years ago, but find it very difficult. But I do not want to give up!
buy a new SpaceMouse and start making machinima again. SpaceMouse is almost essential if you want to make smooth dolly shots.
All pics are raw, no editing done. I had no time. I just wanted to try some new stuff I got, Shiva house by CaroX and Fake Bitch tank top by MYNX Designs. The house is quite large and nice and it has windowless “secret room” (upstairs). I can easily image how I slowly put all my dearest things here.
Internet dating can be rough. You never know what you get when you meet somebody. The man has send you nice pic of himself but reality strikes when you meet. What the heck…this is not the guy! Or wait! he is, but he is 10 years older! Do you run out of the door? No, because you are too polite to do that.
So I hang out here, at the old barn, dressed up, and waiting something honest and real.
I always want to try new tips and tricks in SL. My latest project is learn how to make poses and light projector of your own. Pose making I have tried before with Animare (years ago) and DAZ (last summer), now I tested QAvimator.
I have never before really understood what means graphics–> lightning “sun, moon and projectors”. I run to few articles about the projector lights and immediately made my own. It is quite easy if you have the basic knowledge of building and editing. I read Inara Pey’s brilliant tutorial about lightning projectors and Cajsa Lilliehook’s tutorial about lightning, shadows and projectors. Very useful tutorials both!
My first projector is rather simple with a grunge texture. The trick for powerful shadows is to find proper distance and altitude for the projector. Windlight matters also: darker ones work much better with projectors.
My first pose is DIY, basic pose, very me’ish. The second pose is from my Semotion AO stand collection and the third one is DIY: this pose was meant to be combination of a victory march and classic We can do it -posters. I am pretty satisfied how it looks so bye-bye, I am off to make new poses and projectors…
I freeze when I see a camera. I smile and laugh a lot, but in font of camera – no way. I did not even try to smile – with HUD it always makes you look just weird and creepy. Parted lips was the solution.
The challenge includes other not-so-familiar part, a yearbook photo. We do not make yearbooks in Finland – although there is a class photo (group and personal) once a year.
